| Apprenticeship
Since 1996, the Blue Ridge Masonry Association has supported and sponsored a masonry apprentice class at Arnold Burton Vocational Technical School in Salem, Virginia. Each year, masonry contractors from the BRMA send their best workers to the school for a state-approved Masonry Apprenticeship Training Program. The school is a joint venture of the Blue Ridge Masonry Association and Roanoke County School System. In 1998 and in 2000, the Blue Ridge Masonry Association won awards for being the best example of the cooperation between Industry and Education.
The Blue Ridge Masonry Association has taught 434 students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year classes in masonry instruction since 1996. Here is the latest report on the total number of apprentices who have received training from the Blue Ridge Masonry Association apprentice classes:
